Let go to let in (2)

This is in continuation to my last blog - Let go to let in. We have so many blessings, wishes and prayers that we wish to be granted. However, for that to happen, we must make space for those blessings, wishes and prayers to enter in our lives - and how do we do that?  We make space for their entry. Let's think about a festival. How do we prepare for such occasions? Preparations will begin weeks or months early - deep cleaning of every nook and corner of our homes, decluttering and dismantling of things that are not of use, big bags of trash outside waiting to be thrown off, purchase of new materials - clothes, illumination or perhaps a change in the interiors of our homes. Likewise, we need to prepare for our blessings to arrive. The preparations are the inspired actions and the want for our wants, desires, our wishes to enter our lives.  Let's say one is looking to settle down in life, searching for that life partner. How should the person prepare? He/She must find sta...

Let go to let in

All of us have some wishes, some prayers, some dreams and some visions for ourselves - our near and dear ones. We all have got some plans, that we want to work-out, maybe alone or with a partner or a group. We think about it - how it should be? how will it feel to have that vision satisfied? we become so fixated on it, a kind of unhealthy obsession takes over. Rather than handling something very softly in our minds, we grasp it by the neck to suffocate. How do we go about our wishes? After all, throughout the day, we have hundreds of thoughts, both positive and negative. How do we maintain focus on what we wish for? We need to RELEASE it. Just a few moments of feeling grateful for what we have now, amplifies our desires to reach us. We think we will be happy, when we achieve our wish, that dream, that prayer. What we fail to understand is that being happy now will bring us the wish we are praying for/dreaming about. Being grateful for all that we have is the biggest happiness that attr...

Love others but love yourself More....

Love - the primal and pivotal force of life to move things, people and destinies. Many of us have a lot of people around us - friends, family, spouse, children,  cousins, extended families etc. Do we understand the core fundamental of such relations and associations around us in our life? What makes them thrive and sustain them all? It is Self-Love. "There's no time for me, to have tea, sitting on the balcony" "If they are happy, I will be happy" "If my boss is satisfied, my life will be great" "If I oblige to the traditions followed, I will be accepted in the community" Why do we impose so much on others and for that matter ourselves? Why do we put ourselves to be taken advantage of? It is because, we place a higher value to the person outside us than the one inside. We put others on a pedestal, and they become so important that we forget - we are living our own lives too. "Everyone is YOU PUSHED OUT of yourselves" We often come ac...

YOU create your own destiny

Image
We all have, many times, undoubtedly pondered on the question of “what will my future look like?” or “what does my destiny have for me?”, isn’t it? What answers do we get? On these thoughts, some of us get excited, some happy, some anxious, some horrified and some peaceful.   So, what makes our destiny? Or rather who makes my destiny for me?   There is a book named “As a man thinketh” by James Allen, wherein he has explained the influence of how our own thoughts shape our character, circumstances, health, purpose, values and ideals in our individual lives. OUR DESTINY IS VERY MUCH MADE BY US.   We all own our destiny. There is no one else to blame. Our life is a result of our very own thoughts and beliefs, a manifestation of our inner world. We attract our circumstances based on what we believe we are, our purpose and all the work that we have done on ourselves based on our life journey.   Some of us go through a lot of trauma, setbacks, failures and unpleasant...

Nothing changes if Nothing changes

"Rome was not built in a day" Any new thing does not build by itself. It takes constant and consistent effort to be the change and bring a change. It is all the more challenging, when you want to write a new script, over a previous one. Many times, in our own lives, we seek to create change. What stops us, is the hesitation that we will be going against something that has been a part of the culture for many years. Many things have been challenged, and that is the sole reason for any progress that we have made so far - examples - fight for freedom, the fight against poverty and illiteracy, fight against female feticide and so many. In our own lives, we can make any change if we consciously agree to stand up against anything that comes between us and our goal. It is a constant battle against - what is and what could be. Ultimately, it will test our patience, perseverance and the hunger for the change. If you do not like something around you, you can either complain about it or...

Problem: A blessing in disguise

We all have seen a pile of clothes being washed in a washing machine, the twists and turns washing out the accumulated dirt from the clothes and then, when you take those washed clothes out, they are all clean and fresh.   Life has its own way of providing for, facilitating, and acknowledging our ever-rising levels of self-awareness and consciousness. How does this happen? “PROBLEMS”.   We do face many situations, circumstances, people, relationships, and things around with which we have or face problems. One can use it as a chance to complain, whine and cry about, or take it as an opportunity to grow and evolve.  “I don’t like that neighbor of ours”  “I do feel uncomfortable with that piece of clothing you have on yourself”  “I feel disgusted to be a nurse and treating dirty and old-aged patients”  “I am facing a lot of issues at my workplace, probably I must quit”  “This friend of mine is as good as an enemy. I better be away from hi...

Blessings right in front of you

"Today is the Tomorrow, you were wishing for Yesterday" How many times have we caught ourselves thinking about our future? how many times about - what went wrong in the past? As humans we all are either uncertain about our future or over-analyze the past. Let me also tell you, the situations here are about the cases beyond our control - ones which are done and the others that are yet to unfold. In the here and there, we forget the NOW..... The other day, I and my wife were going to her cousin's place, which is like 25 kms drive from the place we stay. It was late that we started, as we had agreed to reach there by evening. On the way, I had an urgent need to have tea (certainly because it was 4:30 pm, my evening tea time) and started getting headaches -we halted at a joint for a few minutes. Little ahead, we had a heavy traffic which further slowed down our pace - after almost 20 minutes we got back to our normal speed and found in the middle of the highway - a car burned...
